Zhou and colleagues at the University of Queensland performed a study to find out how ginger and turmeric extracts may work together to reduce inflammation. The study showed that the combination of ginger and turmeric was most effective at inhibiting the pro-
inflammatory markers nitric oxide, tumor necrosis factor, and interleukin 6, compared to the activities of individual extracts. The research offered solid proof that using ginger and turmeric together to reduce inflammatory processes is effective.
